Ranch Dressing

Denim & Supply, the newest (and generally most affordable) of Ralph Lauren’s numerous brands, gets its first New York store on May 23 (99 University Pl., nr. 12th St.; 212-677-1895). The outback-tinged space, which previously belonged to Lauren’s defunct Rugby line, brims with eclectic basics—men’s tie-dye tees ($40), women’s antiqued-paisley maxi-dresses ($145)—set against brick walls and distressed leather sofas. Denim is the main attraction, of course, starting with the classic chambray shirt ($90) and getting progressively more patterned and shredded, from skinny jeans with leopard patches ($145) to a slouchy style awash in rips and sunflowers ($250).
