Most of the Labor Day sales have begun — with a few stragglers starting later this weekend, which we will update you on accordingly. Below, we perused a whole bunch of them, and found the deals that are actually worth paying attention to, including many, many items that are 70 percent off (and in some cases, more). While you’re at it, check out our coverage of other Labor Day sales from La Garçonne, Lord & Taylor, Urban Outfitters, and Dermstore.
DVF is slicing 20 percent off its sale items, like this oversize leather evening clutch.
Kathleen Hou singled this guy out from Dermstore’s Labor Day sale. She wrote: “This antibacterial mud bar creates a sudsy lather that won’t dry out your skin. You can also use it as a face-massage tool — great for de-puffing after too much rosé.”
Original Price: $38
Another gem from the Dermstore sale: One of the Cut’s 13 best eye creams: “The silky cream spreads evenly for a potent dose of wild rose oil (rich in vitamin C) to even and fade bluish tones. Add to that: rose-gold optical brighteners that act as a highlighter for an incandescent effect.”
Original Price: $38
Rahua, according to Hou, is one of the best natural haircare brands. As she put it: “This shampoo and conditioner do everything they’re supposed to do: Make your hair and scalp feel clean. Unlike some ‘natural’ shampoos that don’t really foam, this one nicely suds and leaves your hair feeling shiny, glossy, and bouncy. The conditioner softens without weighing down the hair.”
Original Price: $34
This sultry velvet dress, and many other sultry options, is currently 70 percent off at Reformation’s Labor Day Sale.
Original Price: $248

As part of Casper’s Labor Day sale, they’re chopping $100 off of mattresses $1,000 or more; like the new Casper Wave, which our writer Lauren Schwartzberg tried and tested, and found to be bouncy and particularly good for back sleepers.
Original Price: $1,850
If you want a new duvet cover for your new bed, might we suggest this muted and elegant one from Calvin Klein that we’ve included in sales posts prior, but is now even more discounted as part of Nordstrom’s Labor Day sale.
Original Price: $130
If you’re chronically dehydrated at work, keeping one of these rarely-on-sale S’well water bottles at your desk will help.
Update: This is no longer on sale, but here’s a 40 percent off, stainless-steel Pendleton water bottle that’s similarly jaunty.
Original Price: $35
A wonderful “thanks for letting me stay at your house upstate” gift: The Great Guest basket from Mouth (which is having a Labor Day sale) features all manner of crowd-pleasing tasty treats.
Original Price: $80
A potentially leg-elongating addition to your wardrobe: light beige heels from ATP Atelier.
Original Price: $370
What we are about to tell you is a little bit insane: You might want to get a very early jump on holiday shopping with this candle-and-diffuser set, which apparently smells like a winter forest, and is on sale for 50 percent off, and good for moms, aunts, cousins, and such.
Update: This candle set is no longer on sale; but here is a Volupsa candle and diffuser set that’s on sale for $36.
If your ratty work tote is a little worse for the wear, upgrade to this Want Les Essentiels bag, which has a detachable strap.
Original Price: $595
AllModern’s having a big Labor Day sale, where sale items are an extra 20 percent off with the code WAVY, like this area rug from Bungalow Rose. Here’s a very convincing review of it: “I was so hesitant to buy this rug. First, I had never bought one online without checking it out personally first, and second, it didn’t have any reviews. I took the risk because after months of searching I just couldn’t find anything with the look I wanted or the style. Boy am I happy I did it! It is PERFECT! Very thick and full and SO, SO SOFT!!! My husband was so not on board to order a rug without seeing it beforehand, but even he said it was an awesome purchase. Definitely recommend!!!”
Original Price: from $133
We’ve devoted quite a bit of ink to Urban Outfitters’s very excellent Labor Day sale, but we just can’t resist posting more deals, since the stuff is so good: Like this storage tower that can hold your cacti, magazine, linens, what have you.
Original Price: $129
Urban Outfitters’s cousin Anthropologie is having an extra 40 percent off sale. There’s something very elegant about this flouncy gingham wrap dress.
Original Price: $158
Fellow menswear start-up Indochino, known for its made-to-measure suits, is having a big Labor Day sale. This classic, year-round-appropriate suit is 50 percent off.

A shiny, bright, and happy card case from Michael Kors. (This black one is nice, too.)
