Welcome back to Your Shopping Cart, wherein we break out the top five products that you, devoted Strategist readers, all bought in droves. Think of this as the tl;dr of the Strategist: If your like-minded brethren are buying these items, maybe you’d like to, too.
A familiar face has returned. After dropping out of the last top five, the gold and snail eye patches are back again, de-puffing the eyes of Strat readers who buy 60 of them for 11 bucks. That means last installment’s number one drops to number two: those pimple-shrinking patches that beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton can’t get enough of. The Natori underwear beloved by Strat readers drops from number two to number three, while Everlane’s V-neck white T-shirt hops back into the top five this week, landing in fourth place. Rounding out the top five is Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion — an acne fighter, texture smoother, and first-time entrant on this list.
After falling out of the top five last installment, the snail eye patches have made a roaring comeback. Beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton loves these slimy patches for quelling purply under-eyes. Says Viera-Newton: “This is my favorite under-eye product, and don’t make me tell you again why I love snail so much! Its regenerative properties not only work wonders on blemish scars, but also help with any kind of hyperpigmentation, including dark under-eye circles. It’s also super beneficial for helping with wrinkles and dryness.”
Hello, old friend. Since July, when beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton gushed about them in her guide to perfect skin, these pimple patches have been a Strat favorite. Says Viera-Newton: “The Holy Grail. Drop everything and buy them. Not even going to explain, will just say if you pop or pick a zit, put this on immediately afterward, go to bed, and in the morning you’ll see what I’m talking about and thank me.” If you’re already a fan, you can buy ten for $24, too.
We noted last time how popular this underwear continues to be, and this time is no different (it’s gone from fourth place to third). Says High Fashion Home founder Dolly Frearson: “For everyday underwear, I need them to feel comfortable and breathable. I also need them to appear smooth, and not pinch my skin in any place or ride up. And this is the only pair that does all of the above. They will eventually replace almost all of your underwear in your drawer.”
We talked to 19 stylish women about their favorite T-shirts, to find the best white T-shirt for women. One answer, from Elizabeth Rose, a server at Cafe Gitane, moved several of you to hit the buy button: “I like the Everlane V-neck because of the company’s transparency. It’s an ethical issue — I like to know where the clothing is made. And I like this specific shirt because I wear a lot of necklaces, so the depth of this V shows them.”
Many of you were convinced by the skin-smoothing powers of the chemical exfoliant in the Paula’s Choice Perfecting Lotion. We first wrote about it back in November, when it went on sale, and now it’s on sale again with code FRIEND. The Cut’s senior beauty editor Ashley Weatherford raves about the stuff: “[T]he humectant property of glycolic acid draws in moisture and makes my skin look constantly dewy; my face overall appears impossibly smooth. That’s why the lotion has become the third step in my morning routine. Followed by sunscreen, of course.”
