The House passed H. Res. 1529, a resolution commending Sheppard for his career as the public-address announcer for the Yankees and football Giants.
The Yankees paid tribute to George Steinbrenner and Bob Sheppard, and won two of three against Tampa.
The longtime Yankees public-address announcer died yesterday at the age of 99.
Also: hear him ask for a moment of silence following the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
According to his wife, "he doesn’t have the stamina yet."
Technology may allow Bob Sheppard to announce lineups in perpetuity!
