Georgina Bloomberg drifted around, looking at expensive cars with her boyfriend and fellow equestrian, Cian O’Connor. Lauren Bush arrived just before her boyfriend, David Lauren (who was, mind-bogglingly, wearing a zippered Ralph Lauren sweatshirt with a giant pony on it). And polo-playing Polo model Nacho Figueras posed listlessly with his Amazonian wife, Delfina Blaquier. Anthony Kennedy Shriver, nephew of JFK and head of the Best Buddies charity, told the crowd that the Audi–Best Buddies partnership was born when the chairman of the car company sat next to Shriver’s wife on a plane. “He was hitting on her for nine hours over the Atlantic!” he cracked. Then, gesturing at his own slightly kooky attire, he added, “I’m wearing these pants and shoes so David Lauren will see me and offer to buy me a new wardrobe.” Zoinks! A Kennedy comedian — who knew?

The mayor’s little filly is dating another fella, says the Post: Georgina, the talented equestrienne, has been seeing fellow rider Cian O’Connor for several months now. O’Connor, who won a gold medal for show jumping at the 2004 Olympics (but was later stripped of it for using banned substances), frequently goes head to head with Bloomberg on the international riding circuit. They were introduced to one another by Georgina’s trainer, Jimmy Doyle, who, like O’Connor, is Irish. Funny, because Georgina’s last serious boyfriend, Declan Orpen, was also an Irish horseman also introduced by her trainer. And for that we’re particularly jealous of her — all our trainer ever does is make us feel bad about our arms.
