Between the Sheets

Some of our favorite girls really could have shot spring editorials in their sleep and will probably inspire some..um..vivid dreams for their readers.

Injury’s In

If new editorials are any indication, models were roughed up at Fashion Week. Catherine McNeil’s in a wheelchair (and Givenchy ankle boots) for March’s French Vogue. British Vogue’s April issue has Karen Elson on crutches, sporting a bandaged head. Raquel Zimmermann’s taking things to an even darker level, slipping a noose around her neck in front of Linda Evangelista in V magazine. The trend’s also jumped off the page and into reality: Erin O’Connor’s hobbling around London with a sprained ankle. So forget the Balenciaga gladiators — for spring, the only accessory you need is a bandage. —Kendall Herbst

The Burger Dress Debuts; Commemorative Heath Shirt Does Too

• We see that the boys over at our brother blog Grub Street have picked out their future wives' clothing. Alas, we only hope their tastes improve a bit: A burger dress just doesn't look great on everyone. And we all know that drawing that much attention to your midriff is a no-no, especially if you eat as much meat as our co-workers do. Keep on trying, boys. [Grub Street]

Amanda Laine Ruled Paris Fashion Week

At Paris’ end, designers were divided between punctuating their shows with brand-new faces versus brand-name stars. Raquel Zimmermann, who began walking major shows in 1999, continues to be a Lagerfeld favorite and closed Chanel. Sasha Pivovarova, forever Prada’s darling, closed Miu Miu. Olga Sherer and Anabela Belikova looked formidably untouchable opening and closing Lanvin. But Paris’s spotlight has been fixed squarely on Amanda Laine. Opening Alexander McQueen and Miu Miu, plus closing Louis Vuitton, the young Canadian has made a huge splash in her first season. Paris was hers, and we're giving her the week's win.

Shake Shack Reopens Today; Fabio Trabocchi's Last Meal

Sweet glory, Shake Shack reopens today at 11:30! You can call ahead to place your order, but you won’t be enjoying the new heaters until next week. [Eater] The British agree: Adam Platt's term “haute barnyard” defines the prevailing dining trend. Restaurant Titans Descend on Primehouse for a Night

Here’s the thing about restaurateurs: They don’t really care about who has the best ramen in the East Village. They’re not really that interested in where Paul Liebrandt’s restaurant will be, and they find avant-garde desserts about as compelling as algebra. But when Steve Hanson opens a restaurant? That, that is something they’re interested in. The fine art of making money via replicable concept restaurants is one at which Hanson is an acknowledged master, and that helps to explain why the main room at Primehouse last Thursday looked like a who’s who of big-time restaurateurs.

Raquel Zimmermann Is Friday's Top Model

Friday Models
It's day three of the model walk-off and things are getting heated. Missy Rayder gets an honorable mention for one helluva comeback, popping up in the amazing Proenza show. Let's hear it for the Americans! But top honors go to Brazilian stunner Raquel Zimmerman, whose first opening show this season was also at Proenza. Jack and Lazaro know how to pick them. We can’t argue with that.
