Throughout the week, buyers from Kirna Zabête, Henri Bendel, Intermix, and more will be filling us in on which runway looks they plan to snag for spring. Today, Sari Sloane, VP of fashion merchandising at Intermix, loved Proenza's tailoring, Michael Kors's colors, and the flowing dresses at DVF.
The collection was highly styled, with a juxtaposition of ethnic and military themes. Color combinations mixed beige, khaki, and black with natural fabrics such as hemp and linen. They featured layered looks of filled vests and jackets mixed with miniskirts, all with a strong emphasis on the waist. The dresses were tailored and often belted. The collection had a strong identity, but it was a departure from the refinement and luxury of last season.

As usual, Michael's show was happy and vibrant. His Slim Aarons–inspired styling came to life on the runway with a collection full of citrus brights: tangerine, lime, sunny yellow, and the perfect shade of pink. The outfits were perfectly suited for the MK customer — sportswear, chic resort caftans, and swimwear, plus a group of beautiful evening gowns. The floral prints had a feminine and fresh look, and the styling was impeccable with printed head scarves, oversize sunglasses, and bold yellow-gold jewelry. Look 38 and look 43 were my favorites.

Diane Von Furstenberg
Diane's collection embodied an exotic and tropical feeling, reminiscent of the South Pacific. She shifted from tribal, jungle looks featuring beiges, browns, and prints to an absolutely breathtaking color palette of sunset hues and bright floral prints. The second half of the show was certainly the highlight, with the pink, orange, and yellow colors transporting you to an exotic island. The bright tropical prints and long flowing dresses in look 21 and look 42 were my favorite. Overall, the collection was signature DVF — it was feminine, vibrant, and full of pieces that all women would want to wear.
