PETA Invades Donna Karan's Apartment; More Black Models on the Runway

• PETA says it managed to get an operative into Donna Karan's home yesterday. The young woman tricked her way past Karan's assistant by using a fashionable outfit and a tray of soy lattes. When Karan showed up, the infiltrator put on a DVD of animals being harvested for their pelts. [NYP]
• Runway model vet Karen Elson fell down as she closed Zac Posen's show, and Sean "Diddy" Combs and Caroline Trentini helped her up. [The Cut]
• Yesterday's House of Organic sustainable fashion show featured Project Runway vet Elisa Jiminez running to the rescue of model and host Rayne Oakes on the runway. Oakes was standing around in her underwear, complaining that she couldn't find anything ecofriendly to wear. [WWD]
• A top buyer for luxury stores at the Wynn Las Vegas said 26-year-old Christian Cota has the talent to be the "next new thing." He also looks like Zorro. [Heard on the Runway/WSJ]
• The letter CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg sent to designers before Fashion Week to encourage casting more ethnically diverse models may have worked. More black models showed up on the runways, and one, Jourdan Dunn, was a star of the week. [Off the Runway/WP]
