A sales clerk directed us to the stacks of shirts, but a quick rifle through the tees revealed they were all size large — and while we don't necessarily oppose the improvised shirtdress look, in this case it would mean putting a belt over Hillary's face.
Interestingly, the shirt went on sale no more than a week ago and is allegedly a campaign-support tactic by Jacobs. Yet there’s not a single medium nor small (the sizes that so many Clinton supporters wear) available in the store? Is this a conspiracy?! We immediately aimed to get to the bottom of it. With a dismissive tone and zero eye contact, the clerk informed us that she had no idea if (a) the store had sold out of sizes small and medium, (b) the store ever had smalls and mediums in stock to begin with, and (c) the store was ever going to have smalls and mediums in stock, ever. Hmph.
We've yet to hear back from Marc Jacobs's reps on the matter. In the meantime, we're looking at you, David Axelrod. —Elizabeth Cline
