Sharon Stone Shops in Paris, Commits Cardinal Offense

Bon appetit! Photo: AP

Sharon Stone went shopping late last week in Paris. In this WWD account of her excursion, which proper noun is not like the others?

Dressed in a tweed Dior suit, the actress — trailed by paparazzi — did some damage at Fendi (a dress and three handbags), and also hit Dior, Azzedine Alaïa, a Starbucks and some shops in the Marais. She was to give a speech about her AIDS efforts at the Sorbonne Sunday night at a forum on cultural, economic, scientific and political topics.

STARBUCKS. Way to be that American, Sharon. Having coffee and a snack at Starbucks in Paris — a city that offers fresh, real croissants and éclairs so good you can eat two without worrying about your thighs — is offensive. We'll forgive you for consuming poor-quality carbs for the sheer fact that you consumed them. But just this once.
