Hedi Slimane is mulling over just how he'll make his fashion comeback. When WWD asked if he'd return to fashion, the designer replied, "Of course. But it has to be right, the right project." And that project could be the launch of his own line. WWD reports:
Slimane … said he needed time to regroup after leaving Dior Homme last year.
"I didn't want to deal with that for a while, but now [over the last] six months I'm considering options," Slimane said, adding that he has held talks with others about starting his own label. But the designer went no further in terms of details. "It's a secret," he laughed.
After Slimane left Dior Homme last year, he shot a rock-and-roll photography book called Rock Diary, which will be released in the U.S. and Japan this month. For the book he shot indie bands like the White Stripes, the Libertines, and Franz Ferdinand. He also plucked concertgoers from last summer's Benicàssim rock festival and shot them in his studio. Now, could you imagine if you bumped into Slimane at this thing and he asked to take you back to his studio so he could take your picture?! Death might have become us, especially since it's just about impossible to look good at those big, sweaty summer festivals.
