Balenciaga Menswear Flops; H&M's Stock Suffers

• Cathy Horyn writes that Nicolas Ghesquiere included male models in his Balenciaga show wearing "stiff dark suits without lapels and flicker of gold at the nearly closed neckline. They were duds." Ouch. [On The Runway]

• H&M's stock fell 11 percent in Stockholm in the third quarter, owing to a "weaker retail business in most markets." YOU DON'T SAY. [WWD]

• Irish singer-songwriter Roisin Murphy wore one of Gareth Pugh's spring 2009 armor-like dresses to the Christian Dior show less than 48 hours after it debuted on Pugh's runway. Damn, girl. [Grazia]

• Robin Givhan on sitting next to Lenny Kravitz at the Rick Owens show: "He introduced himself to me like a good gentleman and then snuggled in with his big ol' fur vest spilling over into my lap. I'd like to point out that it was about 70 degrees outside. But he's a rock star. I guess he's naturally cool." [WP]
