For a model, discovery by agent is one thing, but discovery by designer is even better. Such is the case with Aminata Niaria. In 2006 Alber Elbaz found the Senegalese beauty in Paris. Months later she debuted in Lanvin's spring show and became Elbaz's preferred fit model. She's become a star in Paris, appearing in French Glamour spreads and walking for Jean Paul Gaultier's couture show. And after finally signing with IMG in New York earlier this year, the statuesque babe booked Proenza Schouler and Ralph Lauren's shows — no easy feat for a newbie. She also snagged a spread in Harper’s Bazaar’s September issue alongside Korean model Hyoni Kang. We'd say this one's on her way to the top.
