If you helmed one of the world's Vogues, decided what was hot in fashion, and had access to almost anything you wanted to wear, how on earth would you dress yourself? Just imagine: Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Balmain, Lanvin, Proenza, Oscar, Manolo — nothing out of reach despite its costs, limitedness of edition, or whether it's even hit the runway. Not to mention, you can ask designers like Karl Lagerfeld to make gowns just for you, as Anna Wintour famously did for this year's Costume Institute gala. So how do Anna, André Leon Talley, French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani, British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, and Russian Vogue editor Aliona Doletskaya (we like to think of this collective as the Fashion Power Rangers, by the way) dress for London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks? See for yourself in the slideshow.
We've said it many times before, but we'll say it again: We freaking heart this woman. Here she stuns at Paris Fashion Week. Our favorite outfit is the center look, which she wore to the Celine and Yves Saint Laurent shows.
On the left Carine appears at the Chloe show with her daughter Julia in Paris. On the right she appears at the Gucci show in Milan. Of course, she wears a cowboy hat before they show up on runways across Paris.
Here you see perhaps the most ubiquitous top editor from this round of Fashion Weeks working the fall-wardrobe transition at Paris Fashion Week. Nary a hair (or fringe) out of place, Anna always keeps it very Park Avenue.
Never afraid to outfit repeat, Anna wore the coat on the left on multiple occasions in Milan and Paris. In the center she appears at Karl Lagerfeld's Paris show in another jacket she wore on more than one occasion. And on the right she busts out the fur at Stella McCartney. Because she can.
Andre Leon Talley
Andre sure loved his mandals this season. At left he pairs them with his Barack Obama pin at the Gucci show in Milan. And at right he sports his green crocodile jacket to a dinner for Tod's, also in Milan.
Looks like Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani has a favorite pair of shoes! Eschewing stereotypical Italian flashiness, she wears them on the left and center here to parties for Russian Vogue and Ferragamo in Milan. On the right she attends the Dolce & Gabbana after-party. Go waist belts!
The British Vogue editor attended a party for her magazine during London Fashion Week in a demure frock with a flashy pair of kicks. On the right she sits front row at the Topshop show in what appear to be (gasp) flats!
And lastly, Russian Vogue editor Aliona Doletskaya attends the party for her magazine in Milan. She is rumored to replace Anna Wintour at American Vogue. If that's based on style alone, we can see why.
