Mary J. Blige to Launch Fragrance; Christina Aguilera’s Look Under Fire

FRAGRANCE
• My Life by Mary J. Blige will be the first celebrity fragrance by makeup company Carol’s Daughter. The company just started rolling out fragrances, and to come right out the gate with Mary J means someone’s doing something right behind the scenes. [WWD]

• Estée Lauder’s Beautiful won the Best Fine Fragrance – Women’s Classic award and Dior’s Fahrenheit won in the fine men’s division at the American Society of Perfumers’ Perfumers Choice Awards this week. We can’t say we’re sorry we missed it — that room sounds suffocating. [WWD]

MAKEUP
• On Christina Aguilera’s new look: “An uber-blonde dye job, 1940s bangs, piece-y, rock n’ roll hair, paint-by-numbers makeup — didn’t quite work all together. Sometimes too many beauty references – Jean Harlow lips, Marilyn Monroe eyes, Bettie Page bangs, Courtney Love hair – is just too much.” We agree. [Daily Beauty Reporter/Allure]

• Sephora launched a new makeup palette called the Ultimate Blockbuster Palette, containing 71 eye shadows, 60 lip glosses, thirteen cream shadows, five blushes, four brushes, three applicators, and one of each powder and lip liner. They say you can create more than 30,000 looks. We know what we’re doing over Christmas vacation! [Beauty and the Blog/Sephora]

HAIR
Agyness Deyn’s colorist divulged how she perfects her bleach-blonde bob — with caviar. She uses a $55 five-minute hair-mask treatment by Alterna containing hyaluronic acid, Champagne-grape-seed oil, white-truffle oil, and the brand’s Caviar Age-Control Complex. [Daily Beauty Reporter/Allure]
