Lindsay Lohan may have gotten cut from Ugly Betty, but the writers are filling her place nicely — with Zac Posen. At the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne induction ceremony at the St. Regis on Friday, the designer told us that he just finished filming a guest spot on the show last week. "It all came together rather last minute," he said, settling in with a flute of Taittinger in hand, after running us over to the bar to try three different kinds of bubbly. "I had just canceled my three-day trip to Paris, and they called me to do it. My call time was at 9 a.m., and I stayed all day." It's fashion fate! We always thought that Betty's nephew, Justin, reminded us of a baby Posen, only Latin and straight-haired. But more appropriate, the show's stylists have used Posen's creations before — Becki Newton's character, Amanda, wore a royal-blue lacquer-jacquard dress on the October 23 episode. Plus, the thought of designers becoming more accessible on television surely calls for a toast. Posen agreed. So, glasses up — clink, clink.
