Since Michelle Obama wore a dress by Jason Wu at the inauguration, the designer has received offers for tell-all book deals and even a reality-TV show. But he's humbly turned them down to focus on growing his label. "I don't want any of the fame bit to go to my head. I'm only ever as good as my last collection," he tells British Vogue. He plans to launch makeup and shoes within the next two seasons and hasn't ruled out branching into menswear eventually. Barack Obama might be spoken for (he wears Hart Schaffner Marx suits), but Tim Geithner might welcome some help.
And as for the fuss over MObama's bare arms? "I was amazed by that — was it really an issue? I mean, we're not living in the past — and it wasn't as if there was a high split in her skirt or she was showing cleavage," Wu says. "And anyway she has great arms so show them off!"
