The biggest story lingering from the Met gala is Kiefer Sutherland's alleged head-butting of Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at an after-party. Anna Wintour is reportedly furious about this. A source within Condé Nast tells StyleList:
"Anna is furious that the Met Gala got upstaged by Kiefer doing something stupid at an after-party that wasn't even part of her event. Now that's all anyone is talking about, not her party. And she is so genuinely fond of Jack, she has supported him and Lazaro for years, she really feels they are part of the future of American fashion. So she's doubly annoyed."
Ahem, some bloggers have been writing about the event for four days straight now, so in the fashion community, we'd say this hardly overshadowed the event. Okay fine — maybe it did cast a bit of a shadow, especially for people who don't care to read about, say, the models who danced really awkwardly inside. But if A-Dubs wanted more people to talk about her party, maybe she should have let more reporters inside so we don't have to desperately chase celebrities down for stories about what we missed — and quench our thirst for that information in the meantime with insignificant (yet highly entertaining!) sagas like this head-butting drama.
