The Met gala wasn't all good vibrations and happy drinking. For some, the post-gala revelry has become a mess of awkward publicity. Yesterday we learned that Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough had landed in the hospital after Kiefer Sutherland allegedly head-butted him and broke his nose at a Met-gala after-party at SubMercer. TMZ has uncovered a few details of the events leading up to the incident. Kiefer claims that Jack pushed Brooke Shields, then Kiefer demanded Jack apologize to her. Kiefer's people say Jack pushed the actor, who then responded with a head-butt.
But Brooke has another version of the story. Her people say Jack didn't do anything to her to warrant the head-butt (not that head-butts are ever warranted, but you know). The New York Post reports that Jack filed a complaint with police last night. Cops are planning to talk to Brooke and Kiefer about the incident. Stressy!
Some say Kiefer was drunk at the time of the head-butting. The Post reports:
A spy who had spotted Sutherland earlier in the evening at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar tells Page Six, "He was running around wearing a giant feather boa and acting totally crazy. He was dancing feverishly and twirling people around all over the place. He seemed to be quite intoxicated."
This isn't the first time that Sutherland has been at the center of a public disturbance. In 2007, a visibly intoxicated Sutherland took a flying leap and tackled a Christmas tree in the lobby of a hotel — footage of which eventually surfaced on YouTube.
That's here if you're looking to kill eight seconds.
