Covers for September, fashion's most important month, have been booked. And they're decidedly blonde and actress-y this year. Charlize Theron will appear on the cover of Vogue (she last appeared on the cover in October of 2007). Mamma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried will appear on the cover of Allure. Kate Moss will appear on the cover of W, naturally. Jennifer Aniston will appear on the cover of Elle. Jennifer Lopez will appear on the cover of In Style. Ashley Olsen will appear on the cover of Marie Claire. And inexplicable perennial newsstand favorite Jessica Simpson will appear on the cover of Glamour. WWD notes:
The blonde music/tabloid star was in the headlines Monday as People.com reported that her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had ended, but no word on whether Glamour was able to include the breaking news in their cover story.
But even if Glamour couldn't squeeze in the major breaking news, they can always highlight Simpson's High-Waisted Jeans-Gate of January '09.
We are a little disappointed by the absence of divas on this year's September covers. Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Madonna, Kanye West, Britney Spears, M.I.A, Chaka Khan — we could go on. We're just not sure Lopez and Simpson count as divas anymore. Maybe half-divas.
