Pretty Girls Make Lousy Salespeople

A new study reveals that women between the ages of 18 and 26 are less likely to buy things from salesgirls who are more attractive than they are. Retailers may hire pretty people thinking they'll reflect the brand and customers will want to buy that brand's things so they can be pretty, too. But, researcher Bianca Price explains, "It doesn't always work like that — women may not consider celebrities a direct social threat, but they might consider the girl at their local shopping centre to be one."
