Finally, Amber Rose is putting a personality to her face and famous figure and actually speaking to the media, picking up her boyfriend's slack like any devoted better half would. In her revealing interview in the latest issue of Complex magazine, she explains she grew up very poor in South Philly with a single mother. But even in the toughest times, she always had fashion, inspired by her role model Slash:
I had every single poster of Slash in my room. It was crazy because I grew up in an all-black neighborhood and everybody I went to school with was black. I was the only biracial looking girl in my school, and Slash was biracial too, he was just a fucking rock star. I always wanted to play the guitar. I’ve tried, but other things came up.
I want to change the face of modeling. I want young girls growing up to know that they can actually eat something, and be beautiful and be a model, that they can actually have a real women’s body and do modeling. I want to get into acting. I want to pursue all avenues that I can.
This lady is sweeping us off our feet! No wonder Kanye's so smitten. Amber also posed for a photo shoot, in which she growls in a cage, smokes cigarettes (eh, one bad example among many brilliant wholesome ones), and eats diamonds. Complex has provided a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot, in which you can hear what Amber's voice sounds like.
