Lack of Funding Delays Kate Moss Museum Exhibit in Paris

The Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris was supposed to open an exhibition exploring the "Kate Moss myth and its creation by some of the greatest photographers of the last twenty years" in November of this year. But embarrassingly for Moss, the opening has been delayed until 2011 owing to lack of funds. The museum is seeking funding from private donors for the exhibit to go forward. The museum normally funds smaller exhibitions itself, but relies on private outside funding for fashion and large-scale exhibitions. Moss is organizing the exhibit with the museum.

You'd think Sir Philip Green (or Moss herself) would have the money to fund the entire thing and cleverly turn it into, among other things, a giant Topshop ad. Maybe all the viable rich people put their yearly allowance money for museum exhibits dedicated to models into the Met Costume Institute's "Model As Muse" show and don't have any more in the budget for a Moss-only effort. Or maybe they feel like, since old and new photos of her are still all over every British media outlet all the time, the exhibition is redundant.
