Ridley Scott is working on a movie to begin filming next year about the downfall of the Gucci family dynasty. However, the Gucci family is freaking out over how scandalous the film could be. Angelina Jolie is in talks to play Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci's ex-wife, who's currently serving a 26-year sentence for plotting his 1995 murder. So it's a pretty scandalous plot, and one wouldn't cast Angelina without expecting her to take on the role with the zeal of a bloodthirsty vampire.

Variety reports:

Maurizio’s cousin Patrizia Gucci has been telling Italian newspapers she feels bamboozled and betrayed by Giannina Facio, Scott’s wife and one of the pic’s producers, who, she says, spent time with the Guccis in Florence and assured them it would be more a piece of Gucci hagiography.

"Scott had assured us that it would not be a scandalistic movie," Patrizia Gucci told Corriere della Sera, adding the Gucci family is "surprised and disconcerted."

She said the family was prepared to try to block the movie if they found it offensive. "I will write a book about the Guccis to say who they really are. And I will give Scott a copy, in hopes that his movie will never be released," Patrizia Gucci added. It's only natural for her to have trust issues.
