Ed Westwick covers the latest issue of Arena Homme+, but he was hardly the best part of the magazine. In one of the best drag spreads we've seen all year, Arena hired a few beefy models to showcase some of the ruffliest garments of the season. Muse devoted its entire fall issue to Natasha Poly, who looks spectacular throughout. GQ gets in on the Twilight action with a shirtless Taylor Lautner. Baptiste Giabiconi gets a nod again this month for his work in a Speedo. And the hottest new beauty trend? Rhinestone mouth. See those images and more in the slideshow.
Best Editorial — Arena Homme+
Who better to showcase strong, beefy shoulders than strong, beefy men?
Best Model — Natasha Poly in Muse
The entire fall issue of Muse was dedicated to Natasha. This editorial was our favorite. It's got everything: chiseled cheekbones, great poses, geisha makeup, pants with words ...
Best Supporting Model — Baptiste Giabiconi in Harper's Bazaar
No monthly roundup would be complete without Baptiste Giabiconi. This month, he branches out into wet modeling.
Most Awkward Poses — W
The creepiest thing about the image at top is that the chicken is poised to crap on her face. And the creepiest thing in the image below is that you can scarcely tell arms from legs.
Worst Celebrity Portrait — January Jones in GQ
She's nearly naked and about to get run over by a car. We'd like to see them shoot, oh, Guy Ritchie like this.
Best Period Piece — Dazed & Confused
The clothes are from the fall collections, but with the right styling they look practically ancient. Except those Nina Ricci shoes, which will always look like they belong on Planet Crazy.
Worst Styling — Nylon
These girls look like they bought shoes at Hot Topic and then glued various bits of garbage on themselves.
Best New Lip Trend — Muse and British Vogue
This will teach slimy men to rape-kiss a girl.
Crustiest Face — Dazed & Confused
We do not envy this chick's facialist.
Most Gratuitous Photo — Muse
Bloomers are in. Apparently this girl didn't get the memo.
Best Lighting — Surface
Her eyes look divine, and his nipple is white-hot.
Worst Concept — Glamour
This spread is titled "Clothes That Pop," hence the balloon animals. But there is a big difference between making clothes pop and making them fizzle, which is all these Goodwill sneakers and balloon animals do.
Best Recession Spread — British Vogue
In a Project Runway–style challenge, British Vogue asked designers to create outfits from "objets domestiques." These looks are by Shona Heath, and the toilet-paper-roll shoes on the right are absolutely genius.
Best Baby — Arena Homme+
Diva training shades!
Most Nonsensical Spread — i-D
This girl is supposed to be an "eco warrior" stuck between a rock and a hard place. We get the vest made of bottle caps, but how does the rest of it help the planet?
Best Accessories — Muse
Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci styled this spread. The only concern is her chains getting stuck in her bike gears, but other than that she's ready for a party at the New Museum.
Worst Fringe — Flare
The model at right looks like a Lady Gaga wannabe, and the model at left looks like she has some sort of wrist affliction that leads to violent hair growth.
Best Use of Flowers — i-D
We want to know what we're missing, but we'll trust i-D that it's best we don't.
Worst Outfit — British Vogue
Alice Dellal looks like she dragged herself out from under a collapsed bridge and put on a pair of denim shorts and high heels. Not our favorite look for any girl.
Most Contrived Editorial — GQ
"Hey, friends! Come watch me prance with the sailors in my trendy, tight-fitting John Varvatos corduroys!"
Best Vintage Image — Arena Homme+
We dream of black-outlined nipples.
Worst Editorial — Paper
Clockwise from top left:
1. Pasty man-thigh should never hog the foreground.
2. No girl should ever get stuck on a ladder that leads to nowhere with her skirt hiked up and her garters hanging out.
3. This is why we never got into acid.
Best Cat — Cartier in Vogue
Isn't it cute when the on-trend animal eats your Cartier?
Best Werewolf — Taylor Lautner in GQ
So ... when does he turn 18 again?
Most Awkward Couple — Vogue
Karlie Kloss looks like she's trying to use the pumpkin to break his neck in an evil secret plot she hides with her smile.
