Men’s Fashion Week Is Almost Here!

Some say the holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. We, however, think Men’s Fashion Week is the most wonderful time of the year. Those glorious few days when the world’s best male models get on their best leather overalls and their best man skirts and man heels and their best meggings, brandishing their heavage with a new croc man clutch tucked under their fatless biceps. Yes, it all begins anew when Milan Men’s Fashion Week kicks off next month. Though Missoni and Moschino aren’t doing men’s shows this season, the schedule reveals Pringle, which hasn’t done a show in a few years, will return to the runway. Meanwhile, John Galliano’s diffusion line, Galliano, is holding a presentation, which leaves WWD to suspect he is launching menswear under the label. Alexander McQueen will also return to the catwalk, after showing his men’s collection in a film last season. After his spring 2010 women’s alien-shoe, sea-snake spectacular, he owes the men equally staggering treatment.

Over in Paris, Roland Mouret will unveil his first line of menswear next month. He is not doing a catwalk show:

“I don’t want to do catwalk because as much as I like women on the catwalk, I don’t like men,” Mouret said. “Women walk, men just don’t get it.”

Clearly he hasn’t seen what Baptiste Giabiconi does to green glazed-denim pants. We can’t wait to see what advances in the world of menswear designers have in store for fall. Sequins FTW.
