On Monday, April 26, the most prestigious fashion-design schools in the city — FIT and Parsons — will have an epic smackdown between their senior-year BFA fashion shows.

Yet, while Parsons will go all glitzy with a $1,500-a-ticket gala at Pier 60 at which Vera Wang will be honored, FIT is taking the more humble and democratic route, live-streaming its show for the first time ever, so that fashion fans everywhere can partake in the invitation-only event, which will be attended by alums Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, and fashion journalist Kate Betts.

Of course, the real competition between these two schools extends much farther than the MFA and BFA shows and is grounded in how many superstars each school births.

While famous FIT students include the aforementioned Klein and Herrera, Michael Kors, Francisco Costa, Ralph Rucci, Nina Garcia, Nanette Lepore, Norma Kamali, John Bartlett, Reem Acra, Nautica’s David Chu, Project Runway’s Daniel Vosovic, Stephen Burrows, and, um, “jewelry designer” Ramona Singer from the Real Housewives of New York City.

It’s a tough one. What’s your verdict?
