With projected prices ranging from $40 to $4,000, we envisioned racks of damningly expensive singed chiffon and webby knits, each item costing several months’ rent. Instead, reports from the front lines are gleefully positive. Dresses and shoes start at $300, leather jackets are $500 to $2,000, and a slew of skirts and tops are in the $80-to-$100 range.
