The North Face Settles Lawsuit Against the South Butt

The South Butt is a parody company of the North Face founded by Jimmy Winkelmann of suburban St. Louis, who is now a 19-year-old biomedical engineering student. He said he started the company to raise money for college, but the North Face argued that the similar logo constituted trademark infringement. The South Butt's attorney argued, "the consuming public is well aware of the difference between a face and a butt ... " Terms of the settlement haven't been disclosed, but South Butt products are still available for sale online. [AP]
