In August of last year, rumors surfaced about Jean Paul Gaultier leaving Hermès. Apparently they just decided to split! WWD reports Gaultier will leave Hermès after his next show for spring 2011 to focus on his namesake line. Hermès will retain its 45 percent stake in the Jean Paul Gaultier label. Christophe Lemaire, the artistic director of women's ready-to-wear for Hermès, will take the reins from Gaultier starting with the fall 2011 collection. We're relieved they figured that out now, rather than leaving us speculating over the situation for months, as happens with so many houses.
