New York Could Ban Teen Tanning; Hair Dye Tied to Liver Disease

SKIN
• If the threat of skin cancer doesn’t scare you, maybe the idea of dry, leathery skin will. A study at East Tennessee State University showed that female students were more likely to stop or reduce tanning after hearing about the negative effects sun exposure can have on one’s physical appearance. Comme des Garçons produced a video for their new fragrance, Wonderwood, directed by the Brothers Quay, which features animal prints, shifty eyes, and the opening line, “Someone who loved wood more than words could say … ” [HighSnobriety]

HAIR
• A recent study done in England found that a chemical found in some hair dyes could cause liver disease. The women in the study who colored their hair were 37 percent more likely to develop the early stages of the illness. [StyleList]
