The highly anticipated Barneys Warehouse Sale kicks off today at the pre-caffeinated hour of 8 a.m., drawing crowds of serious shoppers for steeply discounted designer garb, shoes, and accessories. We scoped out the eerily peaceful Co-opone day early to preview the stash before all hell broke loose. The racks are impressively stocked — sections for Boy by Band of Outsiders, Balenciaga, and Celine were so packed it was a challenge just to flip through the hangers.
As in years past, the rows of clothes are arranged by designer: Bottega Veneta, Costume National, Dries Van Noten, Derek Lam, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Alexander Wang, and more. The towering shoe racks are filled with the last of summer's strappy sandals, as well as fur-trimmed booties and boots for fall. Downstairs, check out men's clothing and outerwear, plus home décor like pillows and cashmere throws.
Our advice: Hit the first-floor designer racks early. You'll find gems like Christopher Kane gingham dresses and Balenciaga leather leggings for 60 percent off (though we only spotted a handful of each). Click ahead to see the sale's twenty most covetable scores.
