it's all in the details

New Accessories Bazaar Will Display Spring 2011 Shoes, Bags, and Jewelry Collections So You Can Actually See Them

Are you tired of craning your neck at fashion shows to get a better look at a pair of earrings obscured by a model’s hairdo? Or, more likely, squinting at a runway photo on your computer screen to discern whether a handbag strap is actually a neck pillow in disguise? Well, strain no more: This season, you’ll be able to examine accessories right down to the stitching in a gallery at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, just across the plaza from the tents.

Organized by Harper’s Bazaar — a magazine that is notably not Vogue — and the CFDA, the aptly named Accessories Bazaar will feature jewelry, shoes, handbags, and hats from the spring 2011 collections of eighteen accessories designers, including Alexis Bittar, Fenton’s Dana Lorenz, and Pamela Love. It will also feature hot-off-the-runway accessories from the collections of Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, rag & bone, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Ralph Lauren, and more. Now you won’t have to rely solely on our details galleries to see what those heels really look like up close.
