When it comes to notebooks, tried-and-true brand Moleskine does it right: its journals and sketchbooks are slim, sleek, and functional. This limited-edition Marc Jacobs collaboration for Barneys CO-OP hits shelves this week, giving the classic black cover an arty update. The lined book is silk-screened in a coolly unfussy scribble print — white on black for the cover, black on white for the opening page. But despite the new print, Jacobs didn’t mess with Moleskine's practical design details: It still sports an elastic band for keeping the pages shut and that essential interior pocket for stowing tickets, receipts, business cards, and assorted city miscellany.
