NYSE Grants American Apparel an Extension on Its Homework

Finally something kind of good has happened to American Apparel, following shareholders’ class-action lawsuit threats and the NYSE’s threats to delist the company. After failing to file second-quarter results by the June 30 deadline, blaming a switch in accounting firms, the NYSE has granted American Apparel an extension to file second-quarter numbers by November 15. Also, WWD reports that, of all the companies the paper tracks, AA enjoyed the second-strongest gains of all of them last week, rising 29.2 percent to a whopping $1.46. [WWD]
