At Saks last night, model Karolina Kurkova told us the secrets of designers' preshow rituals: "Some designers, like John Galliano, like to gather the girls and give them a boost before they get on the runway," she said. "Like, 'Think you’re on the beach, think you are on the Rivera and there is this man that you love.' Some designers do that, and some designers keep it really cool and relaxed." Does the beach scene actually help? "It depends on what I’m wearing and who’s the designer. It's good to have direction, if that’s the idea they have. I think of myself as an actress when I’m on the runway, I’m not just a body walking up and down."
