Helmut Lang sent out their spring 2011 look book today, and there was a nice little surprise in it: handbags! Designers Nicole and Michael Colovos have never done purses for the label before, and their debut collection is a mix of slouchy hobos, clutches, and cross-body shoulder bags in soft tan, gray, and cherry red. Update: The purse clasp is actually inspired by a shark tooth, not made from one, as was erroneously reported by other outlets. A rep from Helmut Lang assures us that all the hardware on the bags is made from brass.
