The celebrity tabloids know there are two nearly guaranteed ways to drive cover sales: either a story involving Kim Kardashian, preferably getting naked or involved in something else somewhat sexual in nature, or with stories about famous people involving pregnancy or babies that have already been born. Having done the Kardashian option last month, W turns to babies this month, with Katherine Heigl on the cover with her daughter. Editor Stefano Tonchi expressed that he didn't want to do the kinds of covers everyone else is doing, and though his have been provocative and of the people magazine editors seem to agree America cares about, they have been shot differently, we suppose. However, there is one thing every fashion magazine needs, and that is images of a hot, pregnant, naked famous woman. W hired Patrick Demarchelier to shoot Miranda Kerr.
Kerr appears in a spread featuring celebrities with their kids, including Jenna Jameson with her twin boys, the Fendi family, Madonna and Lourdes, and Usher in the yard with his brood. Kerr also discussed her pregnancy, which she discovered while shooting the Jil Sander campaign in Paris. "I was wondering why I’d been so sick," she told the magazine. Also:
“My career has been wonderful, but it’s not my life. I don’t feel pressure to get back to work.” As for the long-term future, the Aussie native has conceived a rustic plan for domestic bliss: “My goal involves a hammock, a vegetable patch, and a solar-powered house. And I hope to eventually get there.”
In case you ever wondered what the girl who has everything could ever want: a solar-powered house.
