H&M Line Inspires Jimmy Choo to Relaunch Men’s Shoes

If Jimmy Choo is going to go off and make $795 bedazzled Uggs and $995 crystal-encrusted jellies, the least they could do is pay some mind to the men of this world, whose shoe choices don’t encompass nearly as many $1,000 styles. After the success of the men’s items in the brand’s H&M collection, Choo plans to reintroduce men’s shoes beginning with the fall 2011 season. Tamara Mellon, the brand’s chief creative officer and adventurous sometime model, said in a press release that the collection will transcend boundaries. “My vision of the Jimmy Choo man is one who exudes confidence and style whether he is an artist or an investment banker. The first thing I look at on a man is his shoes.” She’s right — one of the easiest ways to see if a guy is truly stylish or just pretty on-point thanks to a current or ex-girlfriend is to look at his shoes (of course they might raise concerns if they suggest he’s more into his shoes than you are into yours). The collection debuts at Milan Men’s Fashion Week in January and will launch in 30 stores around the world.
