When one wants you, they all do. When Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier want you, they all probably want you more. Crystal Renn is having a fantastic winter, appearing in Zac Posen’s pre-fall look book, the spring Jimmy Choo campaign, and apparently DSquared2’s spring campaign as well. Renn shares the Katie Grand–styled ads with straight-size models Reid Prebenda, Anna Jagodzinska, Fei Fei Sun, Diego Miguel, Hailey Clauson, and Monika Sawicka. This is great for Renn, who has become so successful that it doesn’t feel right to give her the “plus-size” distinction anymore, regardless of her size — something she’s championed for — but where are her peers? It’s great that one plus-size model is working at the same rate as top straight-size models. But there can’t be only one deserving of so much work. We want to see a multi-model campaign where all the girls are what is considered plus-size.
