Cerruti owners Li & Fung, who acquired the label in December, announced on Friday that they're closing down their women's label to focus on menswear. This means that their creative director of womenswear, Richard Nicoll, will present his last collection for the label in March, which he seems to be okay with. "Of course I would have preferred longer to make a success of the womenswear, but I'm grateful for the experience gained at Cerruti," Nicoll told British Vogue. "It makes total sense to me that Li & Fung should focus solely on menswear as that's where their experience lies." Nicoll also designs for Fred Perry as well as his own eponymous label, which was just nominated for a Fashion Fund prize, so one less label on his plate won't hurt him. [Vogue UK]
