Video: The Sartorialist Realized in Seventh Grade That Fashion Was a Good Way to Attract Girls

Scott "the Sartorialist" Schuman says his job is "almost like going out there and letting yourself fall in love a little bit every day." In a seven-minute mini documentary that somehow plugs Intel, the blogger says that he grew up playing sports, but at around the seventh grade started getting into fashion. He would read Vogue and GQ and many other magazines, and soon learned that his hobby "was a great way to attract girls," and easily set him apart at his junior high school in the midwest.

"I didn't grow up dreaming of being a photographer," he continues. "It's very instinctual, the way I shoot. The way I shoot is just the way I shoot." Summing up a job that entails the simple task of taking pictures of people outside as they go about their daily lives is never so simple. "I don't really think, 'Is that fashionable enough?' I don't think, 'Is that of-the-moment enough?' I'm just reacting." He adds that he's thankful the Internet has given the world "what I call a digital park bench." Watch the video to find out what happens when he asks to shoot someone and she doesn't recognize him.
