Tavi on Mutated Bloggers and Elaborately Planned Murders

Ask a group of fashion editors about the future of blogging, and you'll probably get a response like the one Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive gave us: "I think blogs will remain important; what device they’ll be delivered on, who the hell knows? But I think the idea of personal voice, of style not just coming from a few authorities but coming from everywhere in a much more democratic manner, I think that’s the future.”

Ask 14-year-old fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson the same question, and it's a different story: "I think bloggers will become giant iPads and stomp around New York and they’ll just mutate," she said.

Not that she wants to stick with fashion blogging forever: "I hope to do things other than fashion; I wouldn’t want to stick with the same thing since I was 12." And does she have anything else in the works? "Well, sometimes my friends and I plan really elaborate murders at lunch. But we won’t act on them."
