Peter Brant Jr. has been making the Fashion Week rounds, so we chatted him up when we spotted him at G-Star Raw on Saturday. The friend Brant has been squiring to front rows is Nick Hissom, a model (and apparent Penn student) whom Brant introduced as the stepson of Steve Wynn. The two are not a couple, they say. “We’re very good friends. We knew each other through my grandmother, and we are just hanging out for Fashion Week,” Hissom said. “We met in the South of France a few years ago and we’ve been friends ever since,” Brant clarified.

Aside from taking beach vacations with mom, young Brant is college-bound and trying to figure out what to do with his life. He's considered acting, but isn’t really sure about it, and dabbles in modeling (he has an upcoming shoot for Industry magazine with Patrick Demarchelier) — but doesn't think it’s not something to make a career out of.

What about going into his dad’s newsprint business or publishing empire? “I always want to collect art. I mean, art is a big part of my family, it’s a big part of me growing up, and I always want to have a collection, I always want to contribute to the arts and patronize the arts, and it’s something that’s very important to me,” he said. And, yeah, Brant gets it that he kind of already has an important art collection. “I mean, all the people in my family, all the people I know, really make it so I have all these opportunities.”

To that end, he’s going to major in art history in the fall, most likely at Hunter College.
