What a joy it is now that live streams of fashion shows actually, well, stream! Unlike streams of yore, which stalled and didn't work. Today's live Internet showing of the Mugler women's show — stylist extraordinaire Nicola Formichetti's first for the house — offered lots of backstage footage before the show, a great look at the show itself, and even some quick preshow audio of Anna Wintour saying something. Gaga modeled two looks in the show, giving a quick hump to one of the pillars lining the complex runway formation on her second exit. To her credit, she made a spectacular runway model, as one of the few girls who seemed totally unfazed by her terribly high heels, or the direction to pose while walking, rather than look like a zombie. And thank God the girls were supposed to do things with their arms, because the few that stumbled in the shoes were able to use theirs to act like they meant to trip a little bit.
Another highlight of the show was Formichetti's new muse, Rico, the star of his men's show, who walked among the ladies. But one mustn't take the focus from Gaga for too long (John Galliano has done enough of that today), and so the show was accompanied by her previously unheard song "Government Hooker." So what if, at times, the clothes seemed beside the point? (Alas, there were no motorcycle corsets to pay homage to Mr. Thierry Mugler himself, but there was something bulbous on a few sleeves!) The whole thing was a good bit of fun, and probably took lots of minds off Galliano for a few minutes. Enjoy some footage of the show, including Gaga and her new track.
