When the Post spotted Gwyneth ducking out of the Coach headquarters last week, speculation began that she might be the very first face of Reed Krakoff, the eponymous new label launched last year by the spheroid-toilet-owning Coach creative director. However, it turns out that she's the new international ambassador of plain old Coach, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this fall and — because fashion anniversaries can't possibly be bothered to adhere to the calendar year — also next spring.
Paltrow has already posed for the ads, which was shot by Peter Lindbergh on a Manhattan rooftop somewhere (perhaps the very rooftop of the Coach headquarters, which would be economical and also have some nice river views, but who knows). The result: A gigantic campaign that will inundate billboards and websites in a few months, but only in Asia and Europe; print versions will appear in September magazines. One can assume that the images will portray Gwyneth's deltoids in all their jiggle-free, bag-hefting magnificence.
