Miuccia Prada's younger line Miu Miu confirmed speculation that 14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld is the fall face of the label. She's not that young for the role, if you think about it. Because while the casting completely eclipses all the crusty ladies in their twenties working in entertainment, Lindsey Wixson was 15 when she became the face of Miu Miu, with legs more dramatically proportioned than any rubber cartoon character's. Also, Tavi was younger than Hailee when she started going to a bunch of big fashion shows — and that was great until, well, it wasn't.

Apparently the Prada family started loving Hailee after she attended the SAG Awards in a striped Prada dress from the spring 2011 collection — created by genius which, critics said, rivaled Darwin's — and the fashion community went bananas. Hailee was then invited to the Miu Miu show in Paris, where editors, legend has it, again went loony for her and tried to paw her en masse on the front row. Few things are as exciting in fashion as pretty, sweetly natured teenagers who enjoy their clothing almost as much as the industry's adults who enjoy seeing them wear it.
