Each year for the past six years, donors have purchased tickets to shop a sale of new and vintage designer merchandise, with proceeds benefiting the design of costumes for the New York City Opera. For this year’s sale, which took place last night, designers like Narciso Rodriguez, Carolina Herrera, Christian Siriano, Richard Chai, and Peter Som drew sketches of their fantasy looks for their favorite opera characters.
