Reviving what had been reduced to the faintest of hopes, McQueen’s representatives released this statement today:
Alexander McQueen appreciates the huge amount of interest the public has shown towards the Savage Beauty exhibition. We have been in discussion with a number of major venues in London for some time now however nothing has been finalised. Please be assured that an official announcement will be made the moment we confirm our plans for London.
This is fantastic news, as the exhibit was initially deemed too complex to travel due to the clothes’ delicate nature and the fact that a number of them are on loan from private collections. If it were to show in London, it would presumably be a pared-down version.
