"I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton," Vivienne Westwood said when she denied relatively early in the Kate Middleton wedding-dress speculation process that she was NOT The One. "But I have to wait until she kind of catches up a bit somewhere with style." Westwood has been watching, waiting for the moment when Kate would be ready to vamp out the palace in one of her signature bustled skirts — and confirmed to the London Sunday Times she's just not.

"I think she's got a problem with eye make-up!" she declares about the Duchess of Cambridge. "The sharp line around her eyes make her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none." Meanwhile Kate's sense of style gets the following reaction: "Let me put it this way. It seems to me, that her image is "ordinary woman". Therefore, high street shopper. And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from."

But if she didn't shop the high street everyone would hate her! Oh wait.
